• In-house IT staff maintains and provides programming for all HSBA proprietary computer systems.

• HSBA maintains its core administrative functions on software developed by Innovative Software Solutions (ISSI), which features fully integrated modules for eligibility, claims processing, contributions, defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans.

• HSBA has in operation specialized web-based applications that provide union offices with direct real-time information on contributions, eligibility, pension estimates, etc. for their members, as well as the ability to electronically upload dispatch files.

• HSBA has set up web-based applications for clients where participants can look up information on their own hours, contributions, eligibility, pension accruals and can perform personalized pension calculations. They can also download the various SPD’s, forms, etc. directly from the web.

• We have the ability to receive, upload and process EDI claims directly from our PPO networks.

• HSBA is a HIPAA-compliant shop and security is at the heart of all systems development.

• Redundant data backup systems are deployed and disaster recovery procedures are in place and tested regularly.

• ISSI is the largest provider of computer systems for Taft-Hartley benefit funds and third party administrators servicing Taft-Hartley benefit funds in North America – over 250 installations across many unions and industries.
